Steps to ensure your safety
Our COVID-19 response ensures that every person entering the hospital and clinics is screened for temperature and respiratory illness symptoms. Universal masking is in place for all patients, visitors, and employees. Exam rooms and waiting areas receive extra cleanings and we have created physical distancing between patients.
Treatment of cancer changes as medicine advances. We stay on top of new developments in clinical research and use best practices in our treatment plans. We also identify clinical trials for patients to participate in.
A healing environment
Environment can have a big impact on how a patient feels during treatment. Serene, spacious clinic rooms with beautiful views of Port Townsend Bay and the Strait of Juan de Fuca provide an ideal healing environment during care. We also offer healthful, organic meals and snacks made in our own kitchen.
Connections in Care
Jefferson Healthcare is proud to connect with Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA) Peninsula, an established state-of-the-art radiation oncology clinic located in Poulsbo on the Kitsap Peninsula. Providers see patients at Jefferson Healthcare in Port Townsend and arrange for them to receive treatment at the Poulsbo center. Follow up after treatment can be done in Port Townsend as well. SCCA Peninsula is the only site west of Seattle to earn full accreditation from the American College of Radiology (ACR), the leading organization in establishing a quality standard for radiation oncology facilities. SCCA Peninsula’s physicians are a team of nationally recognized experts working together to deliver the most effective radiation oncology treatment for their patients.
During treatment, our providers work together to help patients get better. Our patient navigators coordinate care beginning with diagnosis through treatment and recovery. We create a comprehensive treatment plan personalized and based on individual health and wellness needs.
Psychosocial services are provided by licensed social work staff, who specialize in providing comprehensive oncology support services and individual and family counseling services. From assisting with transportation to treatment and financial resources to dealing with the emotional impact of a cancer diagnosis, our caring and supportive social work team is dedicated to providing quality care for our patients.
