Concussion protocol

Physical therapists who specialize in concussion assessment and management follow standardized protocols to ensure a safe return to sport, work, or usual daily activities. Sessions often include guidance on balancing rest and activity, in addition to exercises and advice to help treat dizziness, vertigo, balance impairments, headaches, and neck pain.

Hands, wrists, and arms

Pain in your hand, wrist, or arm can keep you from living a normal life. From soft tissue sprains and strains to arthritic/degenerative joint disease to amputations and tendon repair, our certified hand therapists help to bridge the gap between the medical treatment of acute and chronic conditions (hands, wrists, forearms, and elbows) and function to restore a balance to each individual’s daily life. This often includes people who have osteoarthritis, wrist and hand sprains or strains, overuse injuries, and generalized pain in the hands or wrists. Our goals are specific to each individual with the aim of improving the overall quality of life.

Certified lymphedema therapists

Provide education in the prevention of lymphedema following mastectomy, lumpectomy, or other injuries. If swelling does develop our therapists can help manage and avoid complications associated with lymphedema. Our certified therapists can also measure/fit you with proper compression garments to assist with regaining function back in your arm.

Vertigo and dizziness

The highly trained physical therapists are fully trained in managing vertigo and other causes of dizziness.  The goal is to help to improve balance and keep you on your feet.  Therapists are also skilled at managing symptoms that occur following concussion such as difficulty with mental focus, disorientation, headache, and poor balance. Symptoms of vertigo or dizziness should not be left unaddressed no matter your age.

Falls Prevention Program

Falls are a common cause of serious injury in the elderly and can lead to an impaired ability to live independently.  A single fall has the potential to be a life-altering event.  The key is prevention.  Enroll in a fall prevention program to create a plan to reduce your risk through a network of therapies.   Learn more.
