CMS Principal Deputy Administrator Visits Jefferson Healthcare

Jefferson Healthcare leadership and a delegation from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services discussed how funding models affect rural healthcare.

Jefferson Healthcare welcomed a group including Jonathan Blum, the Principal Deputy Administrator and Chief Operating Officer at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), to its Port Townsend campus on November 14, 2023.

As a key figure at CMS, Mr. Blum plays a crucial role in administering vital healthcare programs such as Medicare, Medicaid, the Children’s Health Insurance Program, and the Health Insurance Marketplace. “Jonathan Blum’s visit to Jefferson Healthcare underscores the importance of rural healthcare providers in the national healthcare landscape,” said Jefferson Healthcare’s CEO, Mike Glenn.

Addressing the Challenges Facing Rural America

The day’s agenda included a comprehensive overview of Jefferson Healthcare’s background, history, and commitment to providing critical care through innovative delivery and administrative strategies. Discussions also delved into payment models that safeguard access to care, and an exploration of the most critical services provided by Jefferson Healthcare.
