Transgender patient care navigator support
Our goal is to ensure all patients experience exceptional patient care with sensitive, competent and supportive healthcare providers and staff. All individuals, including those of non-conforming gender identities, are welcome to contact our Transgender Navigator, Jackie Levin, RN, 360.385.2200 ext. 2235. We use the word “transgender” or “trans” to refer to anyone identifying along or outside of the transgender spectrum.
Whole Person Care
LGBTQ and gender diverse individuals have routine healthcare needs, and may also be at increased risk for certain medical and behavioral health conditions. Our providers are dedicated to caring for you as an individual. Behavioral Health services are integrated with primary care teams and work in collaboration with your primary care provider. Providers utilize evidence based techniques to treat common conditions such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, attention deficit disorder, and substance abuse disorders.
Many transgender and gender diverse patients are interested in hormone therapy. Our providers will work with you as an individual to provide the best care options available for hormone treatment. This approach sees gender affirmation as a routine part of your primary care, though may require a referral to a specialist to initiate hormone therapy.
A simple and easy to use communication tool designed to empower LGBTQ youth (and adults) to become actively engaged in their health and to support the people who provide their care. These are placed in all of Jefferson Healthcare clinics and staff are trained on their use.
