The Most Important Tool You Own
Injuries and conditions that limit the use of your hands can be frustrating as well as debilitating. Plastic surgeon Joseph Meyerson, MD, uses his specialized training in hand and wrist surgery to relieve pain, restore function to the hand, and restore quality of life.
Hand conditions and injuries
Hand conditions can be acute—such as fractures or lacerations—or chronic—like arthritis and carpal tunnel syndrome. In assessing a patient’s hand complaint, understanding the issue, the patient’s job, and their hobbies is critical. Once a thorough history and physical are completed, the patient and surgeon can create a plan to relieve hand and wrist pain using therapists, nonsurgical therapies, and surgery.
