Cardiology

Exceptional Heart Care, Right Here at Home

Our team of experts offers comprehensive, high-quality heart care. Non-invasive cardiology care is safe and painless and lets you return home the same day.

OUR TEAM

Our board-certified cardiology team uses comprehensive diagnostic tests to identify heart-related conditions and a variety of procedures to treat them. The clinic features Hillrom equipment, including Exercise Tolerance Testing (ETT), Transesophageal Echocardiogram (TEE), Transthoracic Echocardiograms (TTE), Electrophysiology (device checks/device programming), Zio Patch XT (long-term continuous heart monitor), and Zio Patch AT (mobile cardiac telemetry monitor — short term monitor).

NON-SURGICAL OPTIONS

Non-surgical options are safer and more effective than ever before.  Local cardiologists partner with providers at St. Michael Medical Center in Silverdale to practice interventional cardiology, diagnostic cardiology, and electrophysiology. Together, they offer more treatment options and education so you can make informed care decisions. Cardioversions, TTE, and TEE Cardioversions are performed through outpatient surgery at Jefferson Healthcare.

Electrocardiogram (EKG)

An electrocardiogram reads the electrical activity of the heart and provides immediate results for viewing.

Transesophageal echocardiogram (TEE)

TEE uses high-frequency sound waves (ultrasound) to make detailed pictures of the heart and the arteries that lead to and from it. Unlike a standard echocardiogram, the echo transducer that produces the sound waves for TEE is attached to a thin tube that passes through the mouth, down the throat, and into the esophagus. Because the esophagus is so close to the upper chambers of the heart, very clear images of those heart structures and valves can be obtained.

Exercise stress test

A “stress test,” or a “treadmill test,” checks for changes in the heart during exercise. This exercise may also use nuclear medicine to detect symptoms.

Nuclear stress test

Nuclear stress tests use radioactive dye and imaging to map blood flow to the heart at rest and under exertion. Areas with poor blood flow or damage are detected. A nuclear stress test is one of several stress tests that may be performed alone or in combination. Compared with an exercise stress test, a nuclear stress test can better determine the risk of a heart attack or other cardiac event if a doctor suspects coronary artery disease.

Cardioversion

Cardioversion restores a normal heart rhythm in people with certain types of abnormal heartbeats (arrhythmias). Usually, cardioversion is done by sending electric shocks to the heart through electrodes placed on the chest. It’s also possible to do cardioversion with medications.

Ambulatory monitor

A telemetry monitor can analyze and detect irregular heartbeats.
