ABOUT THIS PROVIDER
American Board of Internal Medicine
Voted “Best Doctors” 1996-2002, 2007-2010, 2013-2017
After residency Dr. Heiner spent one year of practice at Anchor HMO, Chicago IL, July 1985 to July 1986. Then practiced in Las Vegas and Henderson Nevada from September 1986 to May 2017. 27 years in private practice, group and solo, 18 months in an Urgent Care setting and 13 months as the medical director of a charity medical clinic for the uninsured.
Dr. Heiner is a hands-on doctor, focusing a lot on careful history and physical diagnosis before ordering tests. She is willing to discuss alternative medical options, supplements etc, within reason. She likes to reach out to my fellow physicians and health care providers directly to discuss patient care when appropriate. She is also big on making sure patients understand why they are having tests done, and going over the results in person to enhance understanding and education. As an internist for more than three decades, she is very comfortable taking a long view of patients with multiple medical issues and helping them stay positive and focused on priorities. Finally, her internist experience in Southern Nevada allowed her to work with teens and develop skills in the area of adolescent medicine.
Dr. Heiner has been an amateur musician since childhood and sings in her church choir, plays the piano and cello when she has time. She and her husband enjoy sailing and recently purchased the 70 year old wooden fishing troller “Sockeye” from a Port Townsend naval architect (Les Schnick) who restored her. They are looking forward to exploring Puget Sound, the San Juan Islands, and up the inland passage on her. She also likes to cook and garden.
