New Graduate RN Residency Program

A new graduate Nurse Residency Program to attract qualified nurses to Jefferson Healthcare launches March 1st.  The 12-month transition-to-practice program will combine clinical experience, didactic education, and simulation to prepare and nurture new RN graduates.  Departments participating in the program include Acute and Intensive Care Units, Family Birth, Emergency, Surgical Services and Home Health.

Jake Picus, Education Program Manager will work closely with the nursing leadership team and Nurse Educators to create a dynamic and comprehensive first year of employment for the new residents.  Residents will have foundational phases in which they practice under the direct supervision of an experienced nurse preceptor to receive mentoring, support, and training.  During this time, residents will rotate through various clinical departments which could include medical-surgical, acute care, intensive care, home health and hospice, infusion, oncology, emergency, and surgery.  As full-time paid employees, the nurses will work various shifts and receive ongoing educational opportunities.  Jefferson Healthcare will ask for a two-year commitment from the nurses after the completion of the residency.

Interested new graduates can apply for the program on the Jefferson Healthcare website by searching New Grad RN Residency.  Applications, resumes, and cover letters will be accepted through the online job portal from March 1 through March 31, 2022. Applicants can expect to be interviewed in April and questions can be emailed to -March 1, 2022
