Jefferson Healthcare Recognized Among America’s Best Hospitals

Chief Patient Safety & Quality Officer, Brandie Manuel, joined the To Your Health podcast to talk about Jefferson Healthcare’s recent recognition as one of the country’s top hospitals for outpatient experience and obstetrics.

Jefferson Healthcare has been recognized with two 2025 Women’s Choice Awards, earning national distinction for excellence in both obstetrics and outpatient experience. These awards place Jefferson Healthcare among the top-performing hospitals in the country and underscore our ongoing commitment to safe, high-quality, patient-centered care close to home.

The Women’s Choice Award helps women make informed healthcare decisions by identifying hospitals that meet rigorous criteria related to clinical performance, patient satisfaction, and appropriate accreditations. The methodology for these awards combines objective clinical data with patient-reported experiences and recognize hospitals that consistently deliver exceptional care.

National Recognition for Obstetrical Care

Jefferson Healthcare was recognized as one of America’s Best Hospitals for Obstetrics, placing it in the top 9% of more than 4,600 U.S. hospitals offering obstetric services nationwide. Only 591 hospitals earned this distinction in 2025, making the recognition a significant achievement.

The obstetrics award is based on several key measures, including patient satisfaction scores from the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey, patient safety outcomes tied to 12 Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services measures, and low rates of early elective deliveries. Additional criteria include Baby-Friendly USA designation and advanced neonatal care capabilities. Together, these measures reflect both clinical excellence and the patient experience.

“It’s an incredible honor, and it really is a testament to the hard work of our physicians, nurses, and care team members across the organization,” said Brandie Manuel, RN, MBA, CPHQ, CPPS, Chief Patient Safety & Quality Officer at Jefferson Healthcare, during a recent episode of the To Your Health podcast. “We were recognized as being in the top 9% of hospitals across the country, and we’re very proud of our teams.”

Excellence in Outpatient Experience

In addition to obstetrical care, Jefferson Healthcare was also recognized as one of America’s Best Hospitals for Outpatient Experience, placing it in the top 5% of hospitals nationwide. Only 450 hospitals across the country earned this recognition in 2025.

The outpatient award evaluates hospitals using the Outpatient and Ambulatory Surgery Survey (OAS-CAHPS), which measures key aspects of care such as communication with hospital staff, care coordination, facility ratings, and overall patient recommendations. Hospitals must also meet strict accreditation standards through organizations recognized by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.

“The outpatient experience looks at how care is delivered, from communication and coordination to how patients rate their overall experience,” Manuel explained. “For that recognition, Jefferson Healthcare ranked in the top 5% nationally, which speaks volumes about the consistency and quality of care our teams provide.”
