Jefferson Healthcare’s Oncology Department invites community members to a free colon cancer screening event on Friday, November 15, from 9:30 a.m. to noon at the Tri-Area Community Center in Chimacum. This screening event is a valuable opportunity for residents of East Jefferson County to take proactive steps in protecting their health.
Colon cancer is one of the most common types of cancer, but when detected early, it is highly treatable. Our skilled Oncology team will provide screenings and information on the risks, signs, and symptoms associated with colon cancer. By participating in this event, you’ll gain essential insights that could save your life or the life of a loved one.
Participants who meet criteria for further testing will receive an at-home Fecal Immunochemical Test (FIT), which can detect traces of blood in the stool — an early sign of colon cancer. Jefferson Healthcare’s team will offer follow-up care and coordinate additional screenings if needed, ensuring you have access to comprehensive care, right here at home.
