Patty Rhoden was elected to the hospital board in November 2025 and assumed office in January 2026. Born and raised in Great Falls, Montana, she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from the University of Montana in Missoula. Patty began her career in public accounting in Reno, Nevada, where she obtained her CPA designation. After leaving public accounting, she worked in finance roles across various industries, including a leasing company, a private electric, gas, and water utility, and market research, before entering the healthcare field in 2000.

She joined Renown Health in Reno, where she gained financial and operational expertise in acute care, skilled nursing, inpatient rehabilitation, long-term care, and assisted living. In 2008, Patty and her husband, Don, moved to the Southwest, where she served as the Assistant Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Oro Valley Hospital in Arizona under Community Health Systems. In 2010, she was hired by Banner Health as the CFO for the opening of a new hospital, Banner Ironwood, which had been closed during the economic downturn in Queen Creek, Arizona.

Her decade-long tenure with Banner Health included various roles, such as CFO of Banner Estrella Medical Center and CFO of the Arizona West Region, which oversaw five hospitals, an ambulatory surgery center, and a research institute. Patty concluded her career at Banner University Medical Center, Phoenix, the largest Banner facility, which is an academic medical center with 750 beds, employed physicians and residents, research programs, transplant services, and a Level 1 trauma center.

After losing her mother in September 2020 and Don’s mother in April 2021, Patty and Don recognized that time had become more precious and decided to retire and start a new chapter in their lives. Finding that retirement in Arizona was too hot and sunny for their liking, they shifted their focus to the Puget Sound area, which they had fallen in love with during previous visits for its cool temperatures, green mountains, and active lifestyle. They found their ideal home in a small neighborhood in Port Hadlock, on the Port Townsend Canal, and moved there in August 2021.

After their first winter in Port Hadlock, Patty sought ways to engage with the community. Following a visit to Jefferson Healthcare, she was so impressed that she felt compelled to contribute and later discovered the Jefferson Healthcare Foundation. For the past three years, she has served on the foundation board, including the last two years as President and Treasurer. Following the foundation’s success in its latest campaign and after getting to know the hospital’s staff and leadership, Patty decided to run for the Hospital Board. She hopes her extensive experience will help guide the Hospital District in remaining financially strong and independent. Patty enjoys meeting new people and learning more about the community she now serves.
