Exercise to Beat Back Pain @ Jefferson Healthcare Wellness Center

Exercise to Beat Back Pain will be focused on using exercise to decrease, and even eliminate, low back pain from one’s life. The class will draw upon but not be limited to exercise from the schools of Yoga and Pilates, and will include simple core stabilization progressing towards dynamic core stabilization as well as posture and body mechanics education. The instructor, Shauna Keeley, is a licensed physical therapist who has focused on specializing in orthopedic physical therapy, and most specifically in treatment of the spine, over the course of her career.  Class meets for 8 weeks on Wednesdays and Fridays.  $160

Dance for Parkinson’s classes are based on a set of principles, enjoyment of the creative and artistic aspects of dance approaches and concepts that have been particularly beneficial for people with Parkinson’s. This is a DANCE class, and while it may also be good exercise.  The focus is on the enjoyment of the creative and artistic aspects of dance.

The instructor is an occupational therapist trained by the Mark Morris Dance Group.  Care partner is free, but participants are not required to be accompanied by a care partner.
