Vaccination Update, Friday, April 16, 2021
Today we received confirmation from the Department of Health of shipment for 1200 Moderna 2nd doses and 300 Moderna 1st doses. We canceled both Johnson & Johnson clinics due to issues reported about an extremely rare disorder involving people with blood clots in combination with low platelets in a small number of individuals who have received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. As we wait further instruction from the CDC regarding the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, we encourage anyone 18 and older to schedule for one of the Moderna clinics on April 22nd or 23rd.

Individuals who live or work in Jefferson County can schedule a vaccine appointment at Jefferson Healthcare in Port Townsend, Washington.
Please note, due to the inconsistent supply of vaccine it is possible some scheduled appointments could be postponed.
Vaccine is for all residents of Jefferson County regardless of immigration status. No information about immigration status is needed and it will not be asked for, collected, or shared as a part of receiving the vaccine.

How can I make a COVID-19 Immunization appointment?
Qualifying Jefferson County residents can now schedule COVID-19 vaccine appointments directly from the Jefferson Healthcare Vaccine website. Posting the appointment link directly to the website simplifies the appointment process and allows individuals to check back for an appointment at their convenience. The schedule will be updated on Friday afternoons based on vaccine availability. First and second dose appointments are scheduled simultaneously three to four weeks apart and at the same time for each appointment.
Individuals who need assistance to schedule or cancel appointments may call the volunteers at Jefferson County Emergency Management 360.344.9791. Volunteers will be available weekdays, 9 am -5 pm.
All vaccinations are done at the Drive Thru Immunization Clinic in Port Townsend. Patient Acknowledgment forms are available in English and Spanish and can be printed directly from our website or they are available at the Immunization Clinic.
Once I have an appointment, where will I go to get a COVID-19 Immunization?
All immunization will occur by appointment only at the Jefferson Healthcare Drive-Thru Immunization Clinic located on 7th & Cleveland Street behind the Manresa Castle.

I have an appointment, what do I need to bring to the appointment?
Please plan to arrive 5 minutes prior to your appointment (arriving early, only creates backups). Bring your ID and insurance card if you have one. All patients must sign the acknowledgment form before each vaccine. If you do not have a printer, forms will be available at the Immunization Clinic.

I made an appointment, but I need to change the date of my second appointment. What do I do?
Our current system automatically schedules your second appointment at the CDC recommended interval. We encourage you to schedule so that both appointments accommodate your schedule. Rescheduling can be complicated based on the vaccine allocated to us. If you absolutely need to reschedule your second appointment please email firstname.lastname@example.org and we will do our best to respond in a timely fashion.

Who is eligible to schedule a vaccination in Jefferson County?
All Jefferson County residents and those who work in Jefferson County are eligible to schedule at Jefferson Healthcare.
Why are we only vaccinating Jefferson County Residents and Jefferson Healthcare patients?
The state is basing vaccine allocation on county population, Jefferson Healthcare’s primary responsibility is to county residents and the patients we serve.

Do I still need to wear a mask after my vaccine?
Yes, wearing a mask provides an additional layer of protection. The same way social distancing and hand washing provide layers. When you receive the vaccine you have an additional layer of protection.

Is there any reason I would not be able to schedule right now?
- Not have had a lab-confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19 in the last 10 days
- Not be sick with symptoms of fever, cough, body aches, chills, shortness of breath, sore throat, fatigue, congestion, runny nose, headache, loss of taste or smell, nausea, vomiting, and/or diarrhea
- Not have had contact with a lab-confirmed case of COVID-19 in the last 14 days
- Not be allergic to any component of the COVID-19 vaccine (for more information, see the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine Emergency Use Approval Fact Sheet)
