Looking for Advisors to Make a Difference

Jefferson Healthcare’s Patient and Family Advisory Council is seeking 1-2 new members for our Council. We are accepting applications from November 30, 2017 through January 15, 2018.

Applications can be found online at www.JeffersonHealthcare.org/PatientAdvocate, or you can request an application to be mailed to you by calling 385-2200 x 2061 or pick up an application at the main registration desk.  Candidates will be expected to complete an orientation process and commit to a two year term of monthly meetings held at Jefferson Healthcare Medical Center on the third Wednesday of each month from 9 am to 11 am.   A panel of Jefferson Healthcare staff will review all applications and then schedule selected individuals for an interview in January.  The new council members will be inducted at the March 21, 2018 meeting.

The Patient and Family Advisory Council is comprised of eight community members and five Jefferson Healthcare Medical Center staff.  The Council provides constructive feedback and recommendations on Jefferson Healthcare processes and projects that focus on improving patient and family centered care.  Since their formation in 2014, the Council has been active on improving the following processes:

·         Rewriting the inpatient and family handbook

·         Financial assistance application process

·         Quiet at night project for inpatients

·         Hospital signage and way-finding

Interested individuals should have a passion for enhancing the healthcare experience for our community, respect for a broad range of perspectives and opinions, and are interested in working in a diverse and collaborative environment.
